Warning issued about roof repairs

The snow we saw this winter may have left your roof needing some work.

But one organization says be careful who you hire to fix it.

The Kentucky Roofing Contractors Association says homeowners should avoid the so-called "fly by night" roofers, who immediately say your roof needs to be fixed.

Instead, the organization says you should have your roof inspected now by a certified contractor, who can give an honest recommendation.

Experts say while snow can cause shingle damage or leaks, in many cases, it can be repaired without replacing the entire roof.
