Video will be available shortly

The search for an inmate who walked away from the Blackburn Correctional Complex Monday morning ended in a Lexington neighborhood.

Police say Scott Stephenson, 28, turned up missing at 4:20 a.m. during a bed check.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Stephenson surrendered to police near the Calvary Free Methodist Church on Clays Mill Road.

It's unclear what brought police to the church in the first place.

Stephenson was serving time for robbery, receiving stolen property, probation violation and being a persistent felon.

If you live around Balckburn Correctional complex and you'd like to be added to the prison escape notification system you can call (866) 445-2867.
