Deputies stop attack during drug deal

The Whitley County Sheriff tells 27 NEWSFIRST his deputies prevented a man from being killed early Wednesay in a drug deal gone bad.

The sheriff says three men met behind Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin after a UNITE anti-drug rally wrapped up.

Investigators say Ricky Miracle of London and Michael D. Taylor of Corbin met the other man there to buy drugs from him, then assaulted and tried robbing him.

A patrolman was in the area and stopped it, according to the sheriff.

Stephen A. Moore of Corbin went to the hospital then was taken to jail and charged with drug trafficking.

The sheriff says Moore tried selling the men a type of Oxycontin from Florida.
