Clays Ferry Bridge

Thousands of drivers cross over one of the most traveled bridges here in Kentucky everyday. Clay's Ferry bridge connects Fayette and Madison counties.

The bridge sits about 200 feet in the air. When you drive over the bridge it appears it is one large structure. But the view from underneath shows there are three different structures . All are supported by three concert pillars.

We checked with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and The Clay's Ferry bridge along with every bridge in the State have set schedules for routine maintenance.

David Thacker with the Kentucky Transportation Department says Kentucky bridges are inspected every two years.
