Nicholasville Couple Facing Charges Of Wanton Endangerment

A Jessamine County couple, accused of raising their children in a filthy home, made their first court appearance on Thursday.

Letisha Davis and John High are both facing wanton endangerment and child endangerment charges. They appeared in family court, but there's no word if they made a plea.

Police say they found their three young girls playing alone on a Nicholasville street last week. When they took them home, officers say they found garbage piled inside their house.

Officials say they're now taking steps to keep the children's best interests in mind. The children are now staying with other family members.

Davis and High have a preliminary hearing scheduled on Monday in criminal court.
