Captured Iguana Very Popular In Richmond

The now famous iguana found on the loose in Richmond last week is causing quite a stir.

Richmond police found the iguana lounging on a roof top on Mildred Court last week.

Since then, the department has been inundated with phone calls from people asking to adopt it or trying to claim it as their own.

Sergeant Willard Reardon says unless someone can provide positive proof that it is their pet, he won't be able to release the animal.

The iguana is now in a foster home of sorts and will remain there indefinitely.
