World's Longest Yard Sale Dealing With Sign Controversy

Video will be available shortly

It's a summer tradition in Kentucky and several other states.

The World's Longest Yard Sale kicked off today along U.S. 127 between Covington and Gadsden, Alabama.

It attracts people from all over the country. But the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet removed many yard sale signs from the roadside, just before the sale started.

Officials say they removed all signs in the right of way, as they were causing a safety issue.

The Transportation Cabinet says if road crews out doing other duties notice signs they feel are hazardous, they can make the decision on their own to remove them.

But many vendors are upset, saying it keeps some from finding their sales.

The yard sale is now in its 20th year. It runs through Sunday.
