Two people injured in shooting

A man and woman are recovering after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Lexington.

It happened just after 2 p.m. at a home on Osage Court, just off Woodhill Drive.

Witnesses say Chelsea Doneghy and Likuan Clark were shot. They were treated and released at a hospital.

Lexington Police say they have a person of interest in custody. Police say that person did know both victims.

Gary Jelly says he watched police take that person into custody.

"The gentleman kept hollering that he didn't do anything, that he was planning on making police look silly, accused of something he didn't do," Jelly said.

Police say they plan to question the victims, along with the person of interest, before deciding whether to file any charges.

Police say a couple of small children were inside the home at the time of the shooting. The children were not hurt.

With the help of police dogs, officers did find a gun near the scene. They think it was the one used in the shooting.

Police also say they are not looking for any suspects at this time.
