Man tied up in home robbery

Kentucky State Police are involving a robbery in Jackson County where a man was tied up in his own home.

Kentucky State Police say it was a little after 8:30 this morning when 63-year-old Robert Witt returned from running errands to his home on Wilder Ridge Road to find two men burglarizing his place, one armed with a gun.

"They were burglarizing his house. One stuck a gun to his head and then herded him to the back bedroom where they tied him up and then obtained his vehicle and fled the scene", says Trooper Chris Lanham with Kentucky State Police.

Police say the two men got into the home by throwing a brick into his back door window. After they left his home, he was able to make it onto the front porch.

"A neighbor found him and called 911", says Trooper Chris Lanham with Kentucky State Police.

Witt, not injured in the incident but too shaken to go on camera, did give police a description of one of the men.

"Two white males, one with a blue jean jacket and blue jean trousers and a black ball cap and a handgun. He didn't have a description of the other", says Trooper Lanham.

Kentucky State Police say the two men will each face charges for robbery and theft by unlawful taking for the car. If you have any information on the two men who committed this crime, please give Kentucky State Police in Richmond a call at 1-800-222-555 or (859) 623-2404.

Police are also asking you to be on the lookout for the vehicle the two men stole. It is a 1999 four-door Saturn, maroon in color, bearing Kentucky registration plate 005-CLY
