Former Vice President Cheney endorses Grayson in U.S. Senate race

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney has
endorsed Republican Trey Grayson in the U.S. Senate race in
The Grayson campaign announced the endorsement on Wednesday.
Cheney said in a statement released by the campaign that he
supports Grayson because of his stands on fiscal issues and
national security.
Grayson faces GOP front-runner Rand Paul, a Bowling Green eye
surgeon, in the May 18 primary election.
Paul, son of former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul of
Texas, has the endorsement of another nationally known Republican,
former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Palin said she endorsed Paul because he wants to "shake up the
status quo" in Washington.
