HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man accused of killing
a woman and her two daughters is headed to eastern Kentucky to
stand trial in the case.
Robert Drown Jr., 27, waived extradition during a Friday hearing
in Cabell County Circuit Court.
The Kenova man is charged with three counts of murder,
first-degree arson, first-degree rape and first-degree burglary.
The charges stem from the deaths of Jennifer, Shannah and
Marissa Ison. Their bodies were found May 9 inside their burned out
mobile home in Hitchens, Ky.
Kentucky State Police have said Jennifer Ison, 31, who'd had a
short-term relationship with Drown, was strangled. Shannah, 10,
died from blunt force trauma to the head and 3-year-old Marissa
died in the fire. Investigators say one of the girls was also
sexually assaulted.
"They have the wrong man," Drown told a WSAZ-TV reporter
outside the courthouse.
If convicted, Drown could face the death penalty.
