LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Attorneys for a man accused in the
sniper-style shooting death of a Kentucky football player want to
test three guns that are part of the murder investigation.

The rifles were seized in Ohio as police investigated various
leads in the killing of Trent DiGiuro in 1994.

Attorneys for Shane Ragland says they want to independently
confirm what the crime lab concluded during Ragland's first trial.

Ragland was convicted in 2002 and sentenced to 30 years in
prison. But the Kentucky Supreme Court overturned his conviction
last year, citing bullet lead tests presented at trial that the
court no longer considers reliable.
