Shelbyville Man Busted For Drugs During Traffic Stop

Shelbyville, Ky. - A 25-year-old Shelbyville man is in the Shelby County Detention Center on felony drug charges after Kentucky State Police found "a large quantity of crack cocaine and money" in his car during a routine traffic stop this morning.

Trooper Hunter Martin stopped Mikel A. Beach's car because he apparently was not wearing a seatbelt. During a search of the car they found the drugs and cash. Beach was charged with trafficking a controlled substance and operating on a suspended license.

The traffic stop occured on Rose Street in Shelbyville. An investigation is continuing.
