A band of heavy rain continues to sink southward into the region. We will have to keep a close eye on this later this evening into tonight. The rest of the forecast remains unchanged with a major winter storm moving in late Wednesday and Thursday.
How sweet it is, to be advancing to the elite eight for the Kentucky Wildcats!
The boys beat Cornell last night in upstate New York, and are preparing to take on number two seeded, West Virginia tomorrow.
Coach Calipari talked this afternoon about tomorrow night's game, Brandon Fisher reports.
Coach Calipari and his Cats are preparing for one of, if not their biggest games of the season when they take on West Virginia tomorrow night in the Elite 8.
Unlike other region finals it's the only #1 versus #2 matchup that will take place.
Usually it's the Kentucky offense that shines, last night it was their defense that help the Cats stay in front after a big first half lead, outscoring Cornell 36-12 in the paint, 16 coming from DeMarcus Cousins.
For West Virginia, they had to weather the storm themselves in their Sweet Sixteen matchup.
Down 2 at the break, the Mountaineers turned up their defense as well, why Kevin Jones led West Virginia with 18 points to help them advance.
In both coaches minds, realistically this is a battle of two number one seeds.
Acording to Coach Calipari this is probably a bigger test than any team UK could face in the final four if the Cats can advance.
History is on the Cats side though, this is only the 3rd Elite 8 appearance in school history, while the big blue is 13-17 all time in regional finals.
