Emergency Heat Declaration Issued In Northern KY

Updated: Mon 1:21 PM, Aug 06, 2007

Officials in the Northern part of the state have issued a heat emergency.

Temperatures are expected to soar into the 90's this week.

Under the emergency, officials can open up cooling centers and provide free transportation for those over 60-years old.

Health officials say those at risk for heat-related illnesses should stay inside and drink plenty of water.

The emergency heat declaration is in place through Wednesday.
