Truck driver involved in fatal crash identified

MARROWBONE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities have identified the truck
driver who was killed when his tractor-trailer veered across an
interstate median and struck a van carrying a Kentucky Mennonite
family.
Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten said Saturday the truck driver
has been identified as 45-year-old Kenneth Laymon, of Alabama.
Federal records indicate the Alabama-based trucking company had
recorded no deadly wrecks and just one with injuries in the two
years before Friday's accident.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration records posted
online say the Fayette, Ala.-based company Hester Inc. had no
vehicles involved in crashes that resulted in fatalities. Of the
two accidents reported, only one resulted in any injuries.
The company employs 30 drivers and has 25 trucks, according to
the records.
