Thousands of people attend visitation of Mennonite family killed in crash

People from across the country are traveling to Southern Kentucky to honor a Mennonite family killed in a crash.

Nine members of the Esh family died Friday, when a semi hit their van head-on on I-65 in Hart County.

Visitation services for the family are taking place Monday afternoon in the Marrowbone community of Cumberland County, where they lived.

A member of the Esh family tells 27 NEWSFIRST as many as 2,000 people could attend the visitation, which is being held at a Carhartt factory's warehouse.

Some people are coming from as far away as Montana.

The visitation is for John and Sadie Esh, their daughters Rose, Anna, and Rachel, Rachel's boyfriend Joel Gingrich, John and Sadie's son Leroy Esh, Leroy's wife, Naomi, and Leroy and Naomi's son, Jalen.

Funeral services for all nine will be held Tuesday.

Funeral services for family friend Ashlie Kramer, who also died in the crash, will be held Monday in Franklin.

The semi driver was also killed in Friday's crash.
