Posted: Mon 5:52 PM, Aug 06, 2007

An off-duty firefighter had to call for back up Monday for a fire at his own home.

The man was in his driveway, filling up his car tires with a portable air compressor, when the wire to the compressor overheated, setting his car on fire...

Firefighters were called to the scene to what they thought was a vehicle fire, but when they arrived, they discovered that the fire had spread to the home as well

According to fire officials, the damage to the home was purely cosmetic. There were no injuries reported.
