Joanne Glasser, who spent six years as Eastern Kentucky University's President, resigned today.
In a statement from the Eastern Kentucky Board of Regents, the Board Chairperson stated his appreciation for all Glasser has done for the university.
The Peoria Journal-Star in Illinois is reporting Eastern Kentucky University president Joanne Glasser spent yesterday visiting Bradley University.
The paper cites sources as saying Glasser appears to be the top candidate for the job, and is expected to take the position.
Bradley University is a private college with about 61-hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students. Glasser has been EKU's president since 2001.
Glasser released this statement to 27 NEWSFIRST:
“I am visiting the Bradley campus in Peoria to explore this professional opportunity and to personally assess if the University and community would be a good fit for me.
At the same time, Bradley representatives will be making the same determination about my qualifications to serve as their President.
As I have always told those who work for me, you must explore opportunities when they are presented to you. While I have and continue to be proud of my efforts at Eastern, given the attractiveness of the opportunity being presented to me, I must give this matter serious consideration."
