Another sign of spring in the Bluegrass arrived Friday.
The spring meet of Keeneland kicked off.
This is Keeneland's 71st spring meet.
Keeneland officials say the previous spring meet opening day attendance record was broken Friday. 24,734 people were on hand Friday, which broke the previous record, set in 1978.
A couple of new features will greet visitors. The track is offering a new, 50-cent pick three wager.
There is also a new $50 annual pass for the spring and fall meets.
Keeneland representatives say they will also be using more technology and social media to interact with fans.
They've also improved traffic for the spring meet.
They recently made some changes you might notice, such as increased capacity in parking lots, along with preferred parking lots.
Keeneland has also added additional valet and shuttle services.
More employees are also available to direct traffic.
An additional turn lane out of Gate 1, onto Versailles Road has been created for traffic leaving after the races.
