Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows tonight. Many areas may wake up to thermometer readings below zero.
Several groups are coming together to make breast and cervical cancer screenings available to more women.
Screenings for both tests will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Fayette County Health Department's Public Health Clinic on Newtown Circle.
The event is intended primarily to help women aged 40 and older, who are under insured, or do not have insurance at all.
The services will be provided on a sliding scale, based on income.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, the Mayor's Task Force on Breast Cancer, the Brenda D. Cowan Coalition's Sister to Sister Program, and the Markey Cancer Center are coming together to offer these screenings.
