In mid-October on Timber Creek Drive, a home was broken into but nothing appeared to be stolen, until a month later when the homeowner noticed checks were missing and being used.
"The victim contacted me and stated she had some checks go through the bank that she didn't write and had been stolen during the burglary", says Detective Josh Masterson with Lexington Police.
The checks were used at a Mt. Sterling Walmart and a Lexington Walmart. The man police say used the checks was caught on camera leaving the stores afterward. They believe he could be responsible for other similar burglaries where only checks were stolen.
"We believe there's some other burglaries he's committed", says Detective Josh Masterson.
