WKU offers new application for mobile devices

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Western Kentucky University students
and others can now find information about the Bowling Green school
through mobile devices such as iPhones and Blackberrys.
Western worked with Blackboard Inc. to develop an application
modeled after iStanford. Western information technology vice
president Bob Owen says the application includes information such
as live interactive maps, campus directory, athletics information,
course catalogs and more.
Owen says nationally more than half of undergraduate students
own an Internet-capable mobile device, and more plan to purchase
one within a year.
The iWKU app is available by searching for "WKU" through
iTunes or the iPhone App Store.
