Hot and humid weather has engulfed central and eastern Kentucky. This steamy air looks to hang tough for the rest of the week. The muggy weather is enough to help spark isolated showers and storms through tonight as lows drop to 70.
Tuesday looks even hotter with temps from the upper 80s to low 90s for most of the area. Isolated storms can't be ruled out. That same forecast will hold true for Wednesday.
The threat for showers and storms will increase from Thursday into the coming weekend. That's when a cold front drops in from the northwest and helps boost our rain chances. Rounds of showers and storms look to become common during this time.
Highs late week into the weekend will be in the mid and upper 80s. A drop in temps comes early next week.
