Pain At The Pump Eases

Updated: Wed 8:47 AM, Aug 08, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Energy Department says it'll be a little less painful filling your gas tank.

Gas prices have been falling the last couple of weeks, and the Energy Information Administration expects them to keep sliding through the end of the year.

It expects the average price of a gallon of regular will be $2.64 in December.

That would be almost 60 cents less than the peak of $3.22 in May.

The agency's latest report points to increased gas production as a reason for lower prices.
