Police say a four-year-old Louisville boy who was briefly the object of an Amber Alert this morning is now in the care of his grandmother.
Detective Phil Russell says Joshua Higgins was asleep in the back of a car when an acquaintance of his mother drove away from a Louisville housing project. The man was identified as 51-year-old Edward Parker of Louisville.
When Parker showed up across town with the boy still asleep in the car, he was taken into custody. The boy was not injured.
Russell says the boy's mother, 37-year-old Stacey Higgins, is accused of putting the child in danger and is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment. Parker is charged with second-degree wanton endangerment.
