Comair Crash Lawsuits Move On To Federal Court

Video will be available shortly

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - It's back to federal court for the Comair plane crash case.

An attorney for the airline told a Fayette circuit judge Thursday that Comair intends to bring the Federal Aviation Administration in to the case.

That announcement ends the legal business in local court.

Now the case heads across the street to U.S. District Court.

The circuit judge was scheduled to hear arguments from 15 different lawsuits filed on behalf of the 49 people who died in last summers crash.

But he decided those were moot, since the case is headed to federal court.

Comair's attorneys refused to say afterward whether they planned to seek monetary damages from anybody other than the federal government.

A judge has already ordered that Blue Grass Airport can NOT be sued.
