As the search for escaped federal inmate Derek Capozzi continues Friday, Fayette County Schools officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST they're monitoring the situation closely.
Officials sent out emails to each school Friday morning, reminding school personnel of security procedures.
Those procedures include keeping all exterior doors locked and requiring visitors to show ID before checking in.
Fayette County Schools officials also say they're in constant contact with Lexington Police, regarding the search.
They say they'll take additional security steps at schools if it's deemed necessary.
