Rounds of showers and thunderstorms could cause issues across the region Saturday. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible.
The public will have the chance to give opinions about a rate increase proposed by Kentucky Utilities and Louisville Gas & Electric.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission has scheduled meetings in four different cities over the next few weeks.
In Harlan, a meeting will be held Tuesday, April 27 at 5 p.m. It will take place in the auditorium at the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.
In Louisville, a meeting will be held Monday, May 3 at 5 p.m. It will take place in the Durrett Auditorium at Louisville Male High School.
In Madisonville, a meeting will be held Tuesday, May 4 at 5 p.m. (central time). It will take place in the Burns Auditorium at Madisonville Community College.
In Lexington, a meeting will be held Thursday, May 6 at 5 p.m. It will take place in the Cooper Campus Auditorium at Bluegrass Community and Technical College on Cooper Drive.
The Louisville meeting is primarily for LG&E customers, while the other three meetings are primarily for KU customers.
KU has proposed increasing its electric rates by about 13.5 percent for the average customer.
LG&E has proposed increasing its electric rates by about 12.2 percent for the average customer.
