Eastern Kentucky University's new leader is expected to take on his new position starting Wednesday
The board of regents named Dr. Charles Doug Whitlock the school's interim president on Monday night.
He replaces Joanne Glasser, who resigned last week to take the same job at Bradley University in Illinois.
Whitlock is a longtime administrator at EKU. He choked back tears when accepted what he calls a great honor.
The university will conduct a national search for a new school president.
