Woman Accused Of Abandoning Infant Pleads Not Guilty

An eastern Kentucky woman, charged after police say she abandoned a newborn baby on the steps of a church, entered a not guilty plea in court on Monday morning.

29-year-old Angela Dawn Brooks is charged with abandonment of a minor and wanton endangerment.

Last Tuesday, police received an anonymous tip that a baby had been left in sweltering heat.

We're told the baby boy is in good health and has been placed in foster care. Brooks is in the Boyd County Detention Center on a 75,000 dollar bond.
