Woman found next to burning home

Williamsburg Police are investigating an early morning fire that's left a woman in the burn unit of UT Hospital. Police say they got a call just before 3:00am Thursday morning of a fire at 486 Watts Creek Road.
Police say they found a fully involved home, with a burnt victim lying outside when they arrived on the scene. According to Sgt. Mike Taylor of the Williamsburg Police Department, 61-year-old Wanda Shelton was laying next to the burning structure, going in and out of consciousness, and appeared to be severely burnt.
Officers removed Shelton from the area; she was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with severe burns to a large part of her upper body.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
