Police investigate major copper theft

Richmond Police are investigating a copper theft that cost a company close to $9,000.
Police say managers at Okonite Cables reported on Monday that approximately 993 pounds of copper wiring had been stolen from the plant during the past several months. They told police an estimated 2114 pounds of copper wire had been damaged during attempted thefts.
In all, the company says the thefts cost them $8721.
