Heavy snow is taking its time moving through the state of Kentucky. This will be a historic once its all said and done with a few spots around a foot of snow.
A winning $200,000 Powerball ticket remains unclaimed. It was sold back in October at the Stop and Save on Somerset Road in Waynesburg in Lincoln County. The ticket expires today.
The ticket, sold on October 24, matched 5 of the 6 numbers; it did not match the Powerball. If someone has the ticket, and turns it into Lottery Headquarters in Louisville by the end of business today, they can still claim the money. If the ticket is not cashed in, the money will go to education scholarships.
Store owner Andy Patel says he doesn't know who the winner is, but says it's probably not someone local. "Maybe someone lost it, or maybe someone came here, and they're from out of state, they don't know anything about it, you know."
Despite the winner not coming in, the store owner tells 27 NEWSFIRST his store still has benefited from selling the winning ticket.
