A store official says the winner of the biggest jackpot in
Missouri history bought the $258.5 million ticket at the very
convenience store where he works as a clerk.
Powerball Lottery officials say the ticket was purchased at the Break Time convenience store in Marshall, Mo., but is waiting to verify the ticket before announcing the winner's name.
Break Time general manager Jackie Maxwell was at the store doing a telephone interview with The Associated Press when the lucky employee arrived Thursday morning with the winning ticket.
Maxwell says the Lottery's communications director was taking the employee to Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City to verify his ticket.
The $258.5 million jackpot is the biggest ever won in Missouri, and the 10th-biggest Powerball jackpot ever.
