A convicted sex offender, accused of killing an eastern Kentucky mother and her two young daughters and then setting their home on fire to cover the crime, appeared in court on Thursday morning in Carter County.
Robert Drown's attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Police say Drown killed Jennifer Ison and her daughters: 10-year-old Shanna and 3-year-old Marissa. Drown also stands charged with rape. Family members say Shanna was the one who was raped.
If Drown is found guilty, prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty, but family members who were in court say death is not enough.
He'll be back in court again in October for a pre-trail hearing. A trial date has no yet been set.
