Neighbor rescues women from burning home

Firefighters and police are crediting a neighbor for pulling two women out of a burning home near downtown Lexington.

The fire started around 10 p.m. Thursday night in the 300 block of Third Street.

Paramedics treated the two women for smoke inhalation before an ambulance took them to U.K. Hospital.

Firefighters say their conditions were not life-threatening.

First responders say the fire was quickly under control and no surrounding homes were threatened.
