Crews Battle Wildfire In Daniel Boone National Forest

Posted: Thu 6:08 PM, Aug 16, 2007

Thursday's blistering heat didn't make things any easier for crews, battling a wildfire in eastern Kentucky.

20 firefighters worked to put out a fire burning on about 20 acres in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Jackson County. That's just off Highway 89 South, near McKee.

Forestry officials say this fire was likely rekindled from a fire in the same area, earlier this month.

People who live in McKee are expected to see smoke in the area.
