Severe weather caused some scary moments in Bourbon county Thursday evening after heavy after winds knocked a barn down on Clay Kiser road off U.S. 460 near Centerville.
Five horses were inside the barn when it happened. One horse managed to escaped, but the four other horses were trapped under the wood.
The horses had to be tranquilized to calm them down; then rescue workers cut the wood around the horses to free them.
Emergency crews had a bit of difficulty getting to the scene because most of the roads were blocked by the trees and debris.
The national weather service says straight line wind caused most of the damage.
