Fugitive from Ohio captured in Knox County

A man who had warrants in Ohio was arrested in Knox County.

It happened in the Pigeon Roost area Friday.

Knox County Sheriff John Pickard says after getting a tip from people in the area, he stopped a vehicle with a man inside that had apparently been staying in some nearby woods.

The sheriff says during an investigation, he found out the man was Brian Richmond, who was wanted in Ohio for felony assault and a parole violation.

The sheriff says a rifle, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were found in Richmond's possession.

Richmond was charged on the Ohio warrants and is now awaiting extradition.

He's also now facing charges in Knox County for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
