A man faces charges after a police chase in southern Kentucky.
State Police say it started after a trooper saw 26-year-old Brandon Edward Bowie, of Albany, outside his vehicle on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in Adair County.
When the trooper approached Bowie, to see if he needed any help, police say Bowie jumped in his car and sped off.
Police say the trooper chased after the car, which crossed the median of the parkway several times.
Police say Bowie then exited onto Highway 61. On that road, police deployed a tire deflation device, which stopped the car.
Police say Bowie jumped out of the car and tried to run off, but he was arrested in a nearby field. Troopers say they then noticed a small child sleeping in his car seat inside Bowie's car.
Bowie is charged with wanton endangerment, DUI under aggravated circumstances, and several traffic and criminal offenses.
Bowie was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. The child was released to social services, and later turned over to his mother.
