Police have new tool to fight underage drinking

Lexington Police have a new tool to help prevent underage drinking.

The Fayette County Agency for Substance Abuse donated 14 hand-held devices to the Lexington Police Department.

Officers can simply wave the device over a drink and it will detect the presence of alcohol.

The devices will be used throughout Lexington, around college campuses and to enforce underage drinking laws at community events.
