FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has released tax returns showing his income for 2009.
The Courier-Journal reports Beshear and his wife, Jane, had an
adjusted gross income of $179,422. Most of that - $125,228 - came
from his salary as governor. The couple also reported making
$49,833 in dividends from stock and mutual funds.
In 2008, the couple reported an adjusted gross income of
$240,371. The newspaper reported the couple had significantly more
income from stock and mutual fund dividends that year.
Beshear released his tax returns while running for governor and
said he would continue to do so if elected. The Courier-Journal
reports he provided copies of the returns last week in response to
a request from the paper.
