Ky. man sentenced to life in beating death

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A judge has given a south-central
Kentucky man a life sentence in the beating death of his
girlfriend.
The Daily News of Bowling Green reports Lawrence Stinnett
received the sentence Friday in Warren Circuit Court. He will not
have the opportunity for parole.
Stinnett was convicted in February of murder and kidnapping the
death of Christina Renshaw. Prosecutors had sought the death
penalty.
Renshaw was found dead in February 2006 by Bowling Green police,
who went to her apartment to investigate a domestic violence call.
Stinnett acted as lead counsel in his own defense during the
trial after having conflicts with his attorneys.
