Motorists should use caution, watch for high water

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 1, 2010) -- As the threat of high water and flooding continues across parts of the state, highway officials are reminding motorists to be extra cautious, especially in flood-prone areas.

Kentucky has received several inches of rain from the stalled weathermaker expected to hover over the state through the weekend. Rainfall could be heavy at times. Motorists are advised to never drive into water across a roadway.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet monitors state road conditions from its 24-hour operations center in Frankfort.
