Was it a prank or something more sinister?

A middle school student claims he was nearly abducted after getting off the bus last week in Georgetown.

The sixth grader at Royal Springs Middle School gets home at around 4:00 on school days.

He says when he got off the bus at the corner of Cumberland Drive and Nantucket Court, he was approached by four men who jumped out of a moving vehicle. He says the men tried to grab him, but were then scared away.

Witnesses say the men were in their late teens or early 20s and were in a white or silver SUV or van.

Police are now investigating and the school is also looking into the incident. Police have stepped up patrols in the area.

Some have said it could be a prank, but the boy's parents disagree. The claim their son didn't know the men who approached him, so they are taking this very seriously.

The boy's father says if the men are caught, he does plan to press charges.
