Showers and thunderstorms will continue this evening. A Flash Flood Watch remains active until 8pm for southeastern Kentucky.
A body found in flood waters in Lincoln County has been identified.
Late Monday afternoon, the coroner identified the victim as Walter Cornett, who had been missing since Sunday night.
The body was found around noon Monday.
Crews from both Lincoln and Pulaski Counties had been searching for Cornett since he went missing.
Officials say he and Junior Gosser were traveling Sunday night on Highway 300 to check on a trailer.
The men came up on a water covered bridge.
Gosser says he thought it was safe, but the water picked up their van and carried it downstream.
The van ended up inverted in the water.
The two men tried to climb up through the back of the van.
Gosser was able to climb to safety, but Cornett was not.
"We were up on top before it went under," Gosser said. "He said we're gonna die. I tried to help him but he slipped away."
Cornett's body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy. The coroner say it's likely he drowned.
