Kentucky Firefighter Heading To Iraq An Eastern Kentucky man is heading to Iraq, to take a job as a sub-contracted firefighter.
Randy Walling left Blue Grass Airport this morning.
He's a volunteer firefighter in Morehead, but says when he got the job opportunity, it was too good to pass up.
Walling says he will be doing much of his work in and around military bases.
He could spend up to 2 years in Iraq.
He says it will be hard being away from his wife and 6 month old daughter for so long.
But he'll then get to come home every four months for ten days.
