Country Singer Comments On Lawsuit

Country music star John Michael Montgomery has issued a statement in response to a lawsuit against him from a former Lexington police officer.

Joshua Cromer arrested Montgomery for D.U.I. in February of 2006.

Montgomery made an Alford plea in the case, which means there is enough evidence to convict him while he maintains his innocence.

Now, Cromer is suing Montgomery for slander; claiming the singer made several false allegations against him to the police department's internal affairs unit.

Now, in a response to his fans on a country music website; Montgomery says he will vigorously defend against the quote "unfounded allegations."
