Mayor Names Committee To Find New Police Chief

Mayor Jim Newberry named a committee Monday to find the successor to Lexington's Police Chief Anthany Beatty.

Beatty will take a new position at UK in January. The new committee will first decide whether to focus on internal candidates before conducting a broader search.

Newberry said he expects to have a successor in place prior to Betty's departure.
